Meet Paras
I'm Paras Turakhia, founder of Silverside Home Buyers. The name comes from Silverside Road in the north Wilmington neighborhood where I'm based. I'm a Salesianum School graduate (Class of 2001). Today I buy, renovate, rent, and manage residential property across northern Delaware and the nearby Pennsylvania and Maryland suburbs.
I've worked in real estate operations since 2007. One project I'm proud of: a distressed 72-bed student housing property in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. I helped raise the capital, managed the renovations and contractors, brought property management in-house, and filled the building. It sold for $2.15 million.
My work covers the whole life of a house: buying as-is, scoping and managing renovations, finding and managing tenants, and underwriting deals for rentals and resales. That's why I can offer more than one way to sell. I know what a house is worth fixed, what the repairs really cost, and what it will rent for.

How we make money (and why the math is on the table)
We buy below what a house would sell for fully renovated, do the work, and then rent it or resell it, sometimes with partners. Our margin is one line in the written offer you receive, next to the after-repair value and the repair budget. If that line is bigger than the value we add, an agent is the better route, and we'll say so.
