If you live in Delaware or elsewhere, Maryland withholds tax from nonresident sellers' proceeds: 8.75% for individuals and 8.25% for entities (sales after June 30, 2025), unless an exemption applies.
Since October 1, 2025, Maryland requires a buyer who may assign the contract to tell you in writing before you sign.
